Canadian Reiki Centre
Newsletter
Winter 2006-2007
It’s with great pleasure that I’m writing the
first ever Canadian Reiki Centre Newsletter.
This is also the official launching of the
Canadian Reiki Centre and I’m very excited about
it.
I’ve been teaching Reiki for about 10 years and
have been practicing it for much longer but
until recently, had never considered doing it on
a more formal or regular basis. I was busy
raising a large family, working full-time as a
teacher and a consultant; I was way too busy to
consider anything else. I’ve always liked the
old Buddhist saying that goes something like
this: “When the student is ready, the teacher
appears”. And so, over the years, either people
would ask me to teach them Reiki, or a situation
would present itself and I would offer to teach
it. I taught Reiki classes in many different
locations including Québec and California. That
was enough for me.
I took early retirement almost two years ago,
partly in order to be available to help with the
care of my father. I found that I was just as
busy, if not busier than before I retired and I
often wondered half jokingly how I ever found
the time to go to work with everything else I
had to do.
Over the last year, I’ve come across more and
more people who’ve asked me to teach them Reiki
or who commented on their difficulty in finding
a Reiki Teacher. And, as often happens when one
is paying attention, life’s events led me step
by step to this moment.
So, in keeping with another reason why I took
early retirement which is to focus my energies
on health and well-being on a universal level,
the Canadian Reiki Center has come into being.
Already, plans are underway for expansion,
including others Master/Teachers, travelling
across Canada and elsewhere to teach. The
coming months will certainly be exciting and
interesting.
